There’s a site (Hyperart: Thomasson on tumblr) dedicated to stairways to nowhere and other unintentional art. The story about why they are called Thomassons is pretty cool too;

Interesting! Have you been to Universal Studios Orlando? A credible job at replicating Hogwarts and Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, but no dead-end staircases.
