I’m trying to work today, however my cat has other ideas. He has gone from the back of my chair, to my lap, my desk, my keyboard and now my mouse. Oh Annoying Cat, go somewhere else. I’m trying to write a book. Maybe I should have gotten a gold fish.
How does your pet try to get attention?
Laying on the keyboard.

My dog crawls onto my chest and sits right in front of my face so I cannot see the computer. If that doesn’t work, he turns his head in front of my touch screen while looking at me out of the corner of his eyes to say, “That’s right. I WILL touch it with my nose and screw you up if you do not stop now and pet me.”

The Siamese that happens to hang out here enjoys jumping up in my lap, tries to eat my headphone cable and shoves his tail in my face usually just as I’m wrestling with an intricate plot point and have no patience. It has made for some interesting moments and more than a bit of angst.

My dog Jernee likes to snuggle in my lap and she’ll do just about anything silly to get into that space. Barking has become her favorite tool now for the attention. She’s getting older (she’s 9), so I guess she thinks this is the best way to obtain the attention she wants.

My dog is super dramatic. He will come into the location where I am working, lay his head on my foot or leg and then sigh like only a teenage girl can. LOL.

This is a no pet zone, I’m afraid. Never had one, doubt if I’ll ever.

If it isn’t the cat it’s the dogs! If I am in my office the cat climbs over the desk or tries to push me off ‘his’ chair. If I am using the laptop on my bed the dogs climb on the bed and try to paw my hands away from the keyboard or stick their big heads under my elbows. The monkeys even double team on licking my face… I failed to mention this is a Labrador and a Golden Retriever, not tiny wee things!

My cat used to climb up on my back while I was working and then if that didn’t work, he’d sit on my keyboard and put his paws up on the screen. :]

My cat, Magic, will come walk around my legs and if I am on a chair than She will try to jump on my lap.

Your cat looks very expressive! He’d fit right in with the Warrior cats.

I recently had of week of puppy distractions while puppy sitting the son’s 9 month Doberman. He was jealous of my iPad and would bark at me if i tried to write instead of paying him attention.

Not surprised you have received a lot of responses to your question! Where would we all be without our cats to entertain us? My little gray cat named Grace by my daughter is very active. I leave the door open so she can run in and out, of course jumping on my lap every time she returns (which is at least 3-4 times an hour), just to make sure I know she is back!

My cat just usually sits in front of my screen or sprawls across my desk, which isn’t very big. I found that if I put a chair next to mine where he can hang out near me usually makes him happy.

My dog hugs my legs with his front paws so I can’t move. And then I have to pet him until he has had enough.

My chihuahuas keep nuzzling my ‘mouse’ hand until they have my attention.

Haven’t had a pet in thirteen years. Maybe a cat? I get tired of burying them when they get old or sick – they are like part of the family then.
