I was going to relate yet another family story. Then I thought about something else and forgot my brilliant idea. Perhaps I have a smidge of ADD. Now you’ll have to settle for another bizarre dream. It was a dream of twos.
It was a horrifying, composed of shattered images with the feeling of being hunted. Two small dogs were yiping. Followed by two bombs in beautiful red leather gift bags set by two young, brunette girls. I was given two babies, but instead of identical like everything leading up to this point, one was so large I could hardly hold it.
What made this dream so terrifying was there was plenty of the bxxxx everywhere.
…
What? Blood?
…
No, I said it was horrifying. There were blonds everywhere. Everytime I turned around one of them who had heard something, unlocked the door and was wondering down the hall in little more than her underwear.
It was like herding cats. I woke up in a cold sweat. Redrum nothing.
i like dream as source. dreams of course are our self speaking to ourself. and even more impossible to do us harm than we are in our conscious state (imo). so it becomes a question of message – what am i trying to tell myself that in my dream mind will be of benefit to me. that’s what dreams do, they try to help us. of course… learning the language helps. because dreams can only speak in dream language. scary blonds. yeah. scary.

That’s very interesting, because I always think it’s the really kooky dreams that are telling me something.

I think the blonds come from horror movies. It’s always the half dressed blonds going to check on a noise. TSTL (too stupid to live)

I was laughing out loud again by the end of the first paragraph! Golly you can get me laughing in the mornings (midday-ish ones.) I love the bit about the blonds! But doesn’t anyone have dreams about red-heads anymore? It sounds like a horrible dream! You must be so glad you woke up to real life. 🙂

Ms. Deidra,
I love your use of pictures to help set the mood of your writing. Even if the picture does not paint the scene of your dream, it does capture the mood.
Well done.

This was a fun little bit of incite into the mind and dreams of fiction writers, good job. My wife and I have two dogs, one big and one small. We got the small one first and his bark is a bit yippy… so I trained him to using growling when he would bark. He has an unusually deep growl for his size.

That would make a hysterical dream. Deep growl followed my little bitty dog.

Dreams are a strange thing, you never know what you’re getting and a lot of the time it can be really easy to misinterpret if you force it.
😀 Though most folks – guys actually – would love to have dreams with blondes in underwear parading around! 😀
Cheers.

Enjoyed your post because I luv weird dreams like the one you described. This one makes me wonder if I should have stopped at two drinks before heading up to my second floor bedroom, and poking two legs into my jammies and then covering up with two blankets because it was way too cold out there, with only a freeze-your-2 butt cheeks-off temperature of 22 degrees.
Have a happy weekend!

I’ve crazy dreams all the time too. Very vivid ones of girls with yellow curls splitting down the middle and out of her steps a skeleton of an old man or eating my fingers because they have turned into cheetos and then carrots. I used to do analysis of my dreams, but understanding them made them boring.
