On my way to New Orleans, I stayed in a less expensive hotel in order to save a little money. It seemed fine enough, except the carpet was sticky, there were no washcloths and no soap. When I called about it, the front desk did give me several packets of shampoo.
I feel dirty and not in a good way.

Not so much ‘like’ but understand. Euck.
Yikes…
Reminds me of a place I stayed, er tried to stay, in east Texas. Roaches crawling on the walls finally got me.
I hope you asked for an upgrade or moved to a new hotel. That’s a terrible way to treat a paying customer – no matter what they charge.
Been there.
Ugh. I’ve been in places like that – sticky carpets are disgusting. Sometimes a cheap room just isn’t worth the savings. (My very worst ever was a place that had no heat, in February. I wound up sleeping – well, trying to sleep – in my coat, hat, and gloves.)
Eeuww.
ick – i’ve stayed in Russia in some very questionable places; ugh
Ewwww….
Were the sheets sticky too? Now that is a ucky.
Yuck.
I lived there a bit…uh, sticky carpet…New Orleans…you did bring throw-away slippers?
